The New Iceland Heritage Museum provides a gateway to understanding the unique history of New Iceland in Canada. Our 1st location is in the Beautiful Waterfront centre, and tells the story of how the Icelanders came to Canada and documents the settlement of New Iceland. We also house the largest collection in the world, of rocks that came from Iceland. Our second location is the Lake Winnipeg Visitors Centre which tells the story of fishing on Lake Winnipeg. Along with our permanent exhibit we also host travelling exhibits throughout the year. Our museum is open 7 days/week all year long.
